Small Town Christmas in the Delta

November 29, 2022

Summary

Christmas activities in Louise, Belzoni, Inverness, Rolling Fork and Leland, Mississippi.

Several of our Central and Lower Delta small towns are celebrating Christmas this December with parades and other festive activities to get everyone in the Holiday mood. We want to encourage you to take in an event or two in these small Delta communities.

Kicking off activities on Thursday, December 1 will be the Louise Christmas Parade. This fun small-town event starts with music and food trucks at 5:00 followed by a night time parade with lighted floats.

From Louise you can roll on over to Rolling Fork where that parade route travels through the downtown square. The parade is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Belzoni, Catfish Capital of the World, is hosting a variety of joyful Christmas events beginning with a tree lighting on December 2, a parade on December 7, events at Wister Gardens and several church Cantatas.

A moving event will be happening in Inverness, December 3-4, Follow the Star, A Walk to the Manger.  This walking Nativity Story begins at 5 at the Baptist Church, groups leave out every 15 minutes.

Christmas on Deer Creek in Leland, Mississippi  has a full day scheduled for December 3 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.  There will be music on 2 stages, traveling carolers, ice skating, and Santa! The lighting of the floats on Deer Creek will take place at 6:30.

So, get out and enjoy the bright lights, small town joy in our quaint Delta communities this Christmas season, and while you’re there, Shop Small – Shop Local. You can find some great gifts in small town gift shops!

Merry Christmas!
