Summary
Great Delta Bear Affair festival held on October 28 in downtown Rolling Fork.
Despite the orange safety fencing and the “Caution – Watch Your Step” signs, the Great Delta Bear Affair was a huge success in downtown Rolling Fork.
The Bear Affair, a project of Mississippi’s Lower Delta Partnership, took place on Saturday, October 28, in its usual place downtown. Vendors were arranged differently, because any vendors needing electricity had to use generators, so they were placed further away from the Main Stage. Festival coordinators did arrange to have a couple of temporary electric poles installed to power the Main Stage and the Children’s blow ups (this one was sponsored by the Bank of Anguilla).
It was a beautiful day, the turnout was great, and a good time was had by all! Admission money received will go to the Rolling Fork Visitors Center and Museum, as plans proceed to rebuild post tornado.
It’s just one more sign of Rolling Fork resilience, that we are able to host a great festival that gives back to the community and, this year, acted as a balm to the community as well.
