Are You a Litter MVP?

May 11, 2021

As a part of the Dunk It – Don’t Junk It campaign, monthly awards are given to Most Valuable Plogggers (MVPs) . There will be a trophy awarded for the business MVP that will rotate monthly, and the individual MVP will receive a “Dunk It” litter grabber as their award.

MVP’s are nominated by community members that have taken note of their diligence in picking up litter and/or keeping their business premises as litter free and tidy as possible.  LDP coordinator, Meg Cooper said, “We want to recognize these individuals and businesses for their efforts. They are beautifying their community by cleaning up litter, which benefits everyone that lives here.”

Maranda Scott, manager of Family Dollar, picks up parking lot litter daily and ensures that their dumpster area is neat and tidy. This earned Family Dollar the business MVP for the month of April. Rolling Fork’s mayor, Fred Miller, said, “It’s great to see one of the city’s new partners taking such pride in their business and the city. The City Board of Aldermen and myself joins the Dunk it – Don’t Junk It campaign in congratulating Family Dollar Store.”

April’s individual MVP, Chuck Stephenson is seen regularly picking up trash around both the Rolling Fork and Mayersville branches of Bank of Anguilla. Andy Anderson, Bank of Anguilla president stated, “We are proud to have Chuck as a member of the Bank of Anguilla family.  Chuck is the rare individual that everybody admires and respects for his character, integrity, work ethic, and willingness to go the extra mile.  We need more ‘Chucks’ in this world.”

We do need more “Chucks” in this world! Please join our efforts and nominate an individual or business to be an MVP, or better yet, be one yourself!”  You can nominate someone by completing the form found on LDP’s website at htttps://lowerdelta.org.
