October 30, 2014

Mistletoe Magic 2014, Rolling Fork’s extraordinary holiday shopping event, is planned for Thursday, November 13 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

During this annual event, merchants across town will be offering holiday treats and special sales to kick-off this Christmas shopping season.  “We encourage everyone to do their Christmas and holiday shopping locally this year,” event chairman Melissa Thomas said.  “We have great local merchants and talented local artists.  I think businesses are seeing the value that the Mistletoe Magic event has in making customers aware of the many offerings in our local community.  Get the customers in for a look and they will return to shop.”

Shoppers can pick up one of the event’s “passports” beginning at noon at the Rolling Fork Visitor Center.  As they travel around town visiting participating merchants the passports will be stamped.

Stamped passports should be dropped back by the visitor center to be entered into the drawing for door prizes.  The drawing will be held at 7:15. Shoppers do not have to be present to win.

Participating merchants include: Aarons, Britton Furniture of Rolling Fork, Delta Implement, Deep Delta Drugs, Green Apple, J B Hatch Salon, Lee Washington’s Cotton Picker Art, Mississippi Ag Company, Miyori Massage, Service Lumber Company, South Delta Parts, and The Shoppe.

SIA Confederate Fan Shop, S-I Community Hospital and Thirty-One Gifts’ consultant Gwen Holcomb will offer items for sale inside the Sharkey-Issaquena County Library.

Bearable Fitness will offer snacks and health information.  Children of all ages can have their picture made with Santa  at Farm Bureau.
