
Phaon Crescent Butterfly

Phyciodes phaon
Almost identical to Pearl Crescents, but Phaons tend to fly much lower rarely getting 6 inches above the ground. Phaons will stay near frogfruit.
Butterfly Size: 1 – 1 1/2 inches
Habitats: A wide variety of open sites, especially clover and alfalfa fields, mowed fields, vacant lots, meadows, road edges.
