Hackberry Emperor

Asterocampa celtis

The Hackberry Emperor is a very social butterfly. They are salt loving and tend to perch on sweaty arms and perspiration damp clothing. They are not afraid to light on people.

Butterfly Size: 1 3/8 – 2 1/2 inches

Habitats: Along wooded streams, forest glades and river edges, wooded roadsides, towns
