Junonia coenia
While they may vary seasonably in their overall color, Buckeyes are easily identifiable by their large and beautiful eyespots.
Butterfly Size: 1 5/8 – 2 3/4 inches
Habitats: Open, sunny areas with low vegetation and some bare ground such as old fields, alongside roads, grassy lawns, and rights-of-way.
