The 2006 Bear Affair was great fun.

On Friday, Oct. 20, over 400 area 4th graders attended Youth Education Day where they were able to view exhibits and visit with wildlife and natural resource experts. They also were entertained by a professional story teller and a puppet show that taught watershed stewardship.

Saturday, the festival was in full swing with music, arts and crafts vendors, and great food. High school students competed in the first GDBA Wildlife Olympics where they answered academic questions as well as competing in technical skills such as archery, laser shooting, orienteering, tree identification. They all finished up with an obstacle course. The team from Manchester Academy in Yazoo City won the overall competition and all winners were awarded prizes from Bass Pro Shops.
